March 21, 1953 - January 12, 2023


Mr. Douglas Paul Dunagan, age 69, of Armuchee, with deep sadness Doug was called home by Jesus on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Mr. Dunagan was born in Gordon County, Georgia on March 21, 1953, to the late Clyde Dunagan and the late Irene Everett Dunagan. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ken Dunagan (Nancy). He was raised in the Everett Springs Community and graduated from Armuchee High School. He was married to Angela Campbell on December 9, 1972. Doug was a member of Everett Springs Baptist Church where he was a devoted deacon and sang in the church choir. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Reserve. Doug was one of the owners and operators of Dunagan & Sons Logging Company that was started by his late father, Clyde Dunagan.  He enjoyed traveling in the United States. He was a devoted husband, father, granddaddy and Christian.  His generosity and love will be missed not only by family but many friends. 

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Angela Campbell Dunagan, Armuchee; daughter, Carman Woody (Robert), Calhoun; son, Chris Dunagan (Angie), Armuchee; four grandchildren; Blake & Gracie Dunagan of Armuchee, and Sadie & Coy Woody of Calhoun; sister, Yvonne Willingham (David); brothers, Tommy Dunagan (Becky), Alan Dunagan (Lissa), and Edwin Dunagan (Pam); numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Everett Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Drake officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Everett Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Everett Springs Baptist Church, 2167 Everett Springs Rd., Armuchee, GA, 30105
